They’re squishy!

I love Halloween. It’s one of my favorite holidays. Of course, Halloween also brings with it X-Entertainment’s Halloween Countdown, which is always fun. Today, I have to say that I would never have known about the return of Monster In My Pocket without X-Entertainment’s reporting.

Monster In My Pocket was around the time I was supposed to quit buying toys, too (although I didn’t, I just bought more detailed ones and put them on top of my computer – like every other geek). I had a handful of M.U.S.C.L.E. figures, but never an M.I.M.P.

These new toys look very cool – they’re creepy and detailed and less cartoony. But the highlight of the page has to be the television ads. I haven’t seen ads like those since the original M.I.M.P. I just wish they had retained the original line… “And they’re squishyyy!” Ah, but you can’t have everything.

Always look on the bright side of life

Somebody had to find a bright point to this mess. And it was Stephen Notley of Bob the Angry Flower who did it:

To those who say that one person can’t make a differnce, I say look at George W. Bush. Jackass, philistine, he has floated through his whole life in a haze of entitlement and ignorance, guiltlessly leaving wreckage in his wake, and now he’s gonna sail away from his time as President just as he did his time at Arbusto haivng blown millions of dollars of other people’s money without a shred of regret or concern. Think of it. This fleshblob, this plastic, unempathic android, this one depressing, deinspiring man—*his* squalid little psychodrama is being writ large all across America and the centuries of the world to come.

Damn, it’s almost inspiring!
