I like to rock.
Pretty funky Friday 10 this week. Give it a shot and see what you know. If you know the artist and song, drop it in the comments.
- “They all know they could be like Romeo, if they only had the guts.”
- “Instead of asking him how much of your time is left, ask him how much of your mind.”
- Liz Phair, “Fuck and Run” [ Thud] – “I can feel it in my bones, I’m gonna spend my whole life alone.”
- Red Hot Chili Peppers, “Give It Away” [Thud] – “How come everybody wanna keep it like the Kaiser?”
- “I know it’s everybody’s sin, you got to lose to know how to win.”
- “Invisible airwaves crackle with life, bright antennae bristle with the energy.”
- “You’re in an all-girl band, your futon’s second-hand.”
- “They’re piling in the back seat, generating steam heat, pulsating to the backbeat.”
- “Now first you must cure your temper, then you find a job in the paper, you need someone for a saviour.”
- Sam Cooke, “Twisting the Night Away” [Carl] – “Here’s a man in evenin’ clothes, how he got here I don’t know but man, you oughta see him go.”

Indeed, #10 is Sam Cooke. And it is an oldie, at that.
But I am going to give you #4, John, even though you added an extra word to the title. #3, however, was spot-on.
Now don’t tell me that I know the 80’s selections better than you do…
